From layered SVG to NFT collection files.
SVG Variants is an NFT collection generator for layered SVG. One editor reads your layers, you set the traits and how rare each one is, and the same engine draws the previews in your browser and the final files on the server.
- assets/
- 1.png … 12.pngPNG, 1024 or 2048 px
- 1.svg … 12.svgSVG option, sharp rendering only
- metadata/
- 1.json … 12.jsonone JSON file per edition
- rarity-stats.jsoncount and percentage of each trait value, for the editions in the ZIP
- collection.jsoncollection name, date and the list of editions in the ZIP
Step 01
Import
- Most tools, deep trees. Exports from Figma, Illustrator, Inkscape and Affinity; nested groups up to 256 levels, up to 2,000 colourable shapes and 10 MB per file.
- Every colour detected, whether set as an attribute, a class or inline CSS, with how many shapes use it.
- Your layer names kept (Illustrator, Inkscape and Figma names included) and used as default trait names.
- Clean files. Scripts, external links and fonts are removed; gradients, masks and clip paths are kept.
Step 02
Compose traits and rarity
Every feature can be tried for free in the previews. Generating files with a feature marked With a pack needs an account with a pack. Free or with a pack
Packs not on sale yet Until then, features marked With a pack stay in the previews.
- Palettes by colour. Pick a detected colour, add replacements by hand or from a generated reserve, set a frequency for each. One colour is drawn per edition for all the shapes of that colour, and each palette is a trait.
- Palettes by layer. With a pack The same, applied to a layer and everything inside it.
- Variant sets. With a pack Group interchangeable layers, such as hats or eyes; each edition shows one of them, or none, with the frequency you choose. Each set is a trait, unless you write your own metadata traits. A folder is one variant with everything it contains.
- Hidden layers. With a pack Hide a layer in every edition without touching your file.
- Strokes. With a pack A stroke on a layer and its content: colour, thickness relative to the image, solid, dashed or dotted.
- Collection background. With a pack A set of background colours drawn per edition, without multiplying the combinations.
- Pixel art. With a pack Render the whole collection as pixel art at the grid size you choose, from 8 to 256 pixels across, delivered as PNG. See pixel art from an SVG
Sharp
Pixel art - Custom metadata traits. With a pack Put a trait and a value on your layers; the JSON file of each edition lists the traits of the layers it shows.
- Live count and previews of the first editions, drawn by the same engine as the generated files (pixel art previews are close, not exact).
Step 03
Generate
NFT collection
With a packPNG at 1024 or 2048 px and one JSON metadata file per edition, plus rarity statistics. The SVG of each edition as an option.
- assets/1.png
- metadata/1.json
- rarity-stats.json
- assets/1.svg (option)
PNG only
PNG at 1024 px on the free plan, or 2048 px with a pack. No metadata.
- assets/1.png
- collection.json
SVG only
Vector files, sharp rendering, on the free plan.
- svg/1.svg
- collection.json
Print
With a packPNG at the product size, 300 DPI: T-shirt, posters 30 × 40 cm, 45 × 60 cm and A3, mug, HD mug, sticker, or a square 1024 or 2048 px file.
- png/design-1.png
- print-report.json
- JSON metadata per edition. Name, description, image, edition number and attributes, each with a trait_type and a value. The image field holds the file name of the edition’s PNG, for example
1.pngin the collection ZIP: replace it with your own hosted or IPFS address before minting. - Unique by construction. No combination of colours and variants is drawn twice; rarity statistics, with the count and percentage of each trait value, come with an NFT collection.
- Deterministic. In a project, the same recipe and number of editions give the same collection: regenerate without losing an edition.
- In the background. Generation runs on the server; the gallery shows each edition with its traits, ready to download.
- Minting stays with you. SVG Variants makes the files. It does not mint, deploy smart contracts, upload to IPFS, connect a wallet or list on a marketplace.
